Metallic reflectors (mirrors) exhibit high reflectivity over a broad spectral range. These coatings can be optimized
for a specific angle of incidence or used over a wide range of angles. Our standard metallic mirrors include protected
and enhanced aluminum, and second surface silver mirrors and can be used from the ultraviolet to the far infrared.
All our metallic coatings will meet the durability requirements of MIL-M-13508.
Protected aluminum
Enhanced aluminum
- Rave>87% 450-700nm at all angles of incidence
- Most widely used metallic mirror from the UV to FIR
- Slight loss of reflectivity 700-900nm
- Rave>95% 450nm to 700nm
- Can be optimized for best performance at non-normal angle of incidence and other bandwidths
- More durable than protected Al mirror
Second surface silver
Protected first surface gold
- Extremely durable
- No reflectivity losses in NIR on transparent substrates
- Can be used from 500nm to FIR
- Rave>97% from 1µm to 2µm
- Excellent reflectivity over a wide spectral range
- Rabs> 98% from 2µm to far IR
- Passes MIL-M-13508
